Collection: Bosnia and Herzegovina Postage Stamps

Bosnia and Herzegovina began issuing its own separate postage stamps in 1879, shortly after being placed under Austrian protection in 1878. The first stamps were issued by Austria-Hungary. After declaring independence in 1992, the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina started issuing its own stamps in 1993. These 1993 stamps were produced in Sarajevo under the siege on 27 October 1993. The first issue consisted of seven definitive stamps depicting the image of the then coat of arms of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina displaying the fleur-de-lis.
