Collection: Bahamas Postage Stamps
The use of postage stamps in the Bahamas began in 1858 with a consignment of British stamps. In the following year the Bahamian post office became independent of London, and issued its own stamps. These stamps featured a portrait of Queen Victoria along with symbols of the islands, including the pineapple and conch shell.
